Nick Zaller
Senior Director, Research and Evaluation

Dr. Zaller has more than 20 years of experience leading research on the intersection of infectious diseases, behavioral health disorders and criminal-legal system involvement.  More recently, Dr. Zaller collaborated with colleagues to establish the first HVIP in the state of Arkansas in partnership with the City of Little Rock and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital.  Dr. Zaller conducts action-oriented research in partnership with academic and community-based organizations to address health inequities among disadvantaged populations and communities. Prior to his role as Senior Director for Research and Evaluation at The HAVI, Dr. Zaller was on the faculty of the Alpert Medical School at Brown University and most recently the Faye W. Boozman College of Public Health at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where he conducted research related to linking individuals involved in the criminal-legal system to behavioral health and HIV and other infectious diseases prevention and treatment services.  Dr. Zaller has conducted research both domestically and internationally and his work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Arnold Ventures, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Clinton Foundation and others. Dr. Zaller was the Founding Director of the Southern Public Health and Criminal Justice Center, and has served as co-Director of the NIH funded Aging Research and Criminal Justice Health (ARCH) Network and as the national steering committee Chair for the NIH funded Justice Community Opioid Innovation Network.
