Sherah Liverpool
Associate Director, Training & Technical Assistance

Sherah Liverpool serves as the HAVI’s associate director for training and technical assistance (TTA). A Guyanese native, she is passionate about serving communities of color. She has a diverse professional background, including working in public health administration, leadership development, and NGO capacity building. These experiences have provided many opportunities for Sherah to work within frameworks where racial equity, social justice, and a solid understanding of complex trauma are paramount. Prior to joining the HAVI, Sherah worked for two years as the HVIP Coordinator for the Kings Against Violence Initiative, an HVIP in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, she managed a dynamic team of violence intervention specialists and hospital responders who provided crucial support through a trauma-informed lens to Black and Brown youth, many of whom presented to the emergency room after experiencing intentional injuries via acts of lateral violence and aggression in their communities. In addition to her management role, Sherah also coordinated with the hospital’s senior leadership team to facilitate the buildout of the KAVI program as a staple within the hospital system. As the mother of black boys, Sherah's lifelong goal has been to ensure that programs and systems are in place to educate and empower our youth for success and meaningful lives. A staunch advocate for racial equity and social justice, she uses her gifts and skills to do her part to interrupt the cycle of lateral violence in Black and Brown communities.
